Mercy My Mission: Life of Sister Faustina H. Kowalska
S.M.D.M. Mercy My Mission is a book I have never been able to finish. It is a summary of Sister Faustina's life and her Diary. Like the Diary, it quotes the words Christ spoke to Sister Faustina. I love to skim through the book reading only his words. When I do try to sit down and read the book all the way through, I am pulled into deep prayer. The book is a phenomenal catalyst for time alone with Jesus.

I realize this is not traditional literature but since the entire movie has subtitles I thought it would be alright on this page. Mel Gibson's Passion of the Christ is a wonderfully moving piece of art. Yes, there are a few very graphic scenes. Not nearly as many as those opposing it would have one believe. It in no way compares to the constant violence I have seen in other movies. For me, the portrayal of the Blessed Virgin Mother touched my heart. Her eyes grabbed me and I saw the passion in an entirely new way. I recommend this film for two reasons. First, I liked it. The second reason is that Hollywood is run by money and I want my voice to be heard. I want more movies about what's truly important. |
